Surgical Abortion

Immediate appointments are available. Call us to make an appointment today!

While termed "surgical", this is a very short and safe procedure done from 15 weeks through 21 weeks of pregnancy.

The Process

What To Expect

You may experience some cramping and bleeding. We will give you all the necessary medications and instructions to be comfortable and well- informed.

We offer free IV moderate sedation, sometimes called “twilight sleep,” if you prefer to have minimal awareness or memory of your procedure.

Requirement: Having a Driver After Your Procedure

For your safety and comfort, patients must arrange for a responsible adult to drive them home after any procedure involving moderate sedation "twilight".

  • Rideshare or taxi services (Uber, Lyft, cab) are not recommended. If you have Medicaid you may request for a medical transportation at no cost.
  • Your driver should be someone you know personally (family member, friend, or partner).
  • Patients will not be discharged alone if they have received medications that may impair alertness, judgment, or coordination.
  • Please plan ahead: confirm your driver before your appointment to avoid delays or rescheduling.
  • If you have questions or need help arranging transportation, our staff can connect you with local support resources.

Funding is Available

We partner with local and national funding sources to make abortion services affordable and accessible for all. If you need financial assistance, we can connect you with supportive organizations that may cover some of the costs if you qualify. Information on navigating this process is provided during your first visit, but you are also welcome to call the clinic in advance.

24 Hour Consent

Wisconsin State law requires that a woman meet with a counselor and physician before she can have an abortion. In Wisconsin, abortions can not be performed after 21 weeks of pregnancy.

After this counseling appointment, the woman must wait at least 24 hours before she can return for the abortion procedure. Young women under the age of 18 are required to have an adult relative (over the age of 25) with them.
